United Tae Kwon Do takes great pride in the depth of knowledge and quality that our instructors deliver. This pride is a direct result of the dedication, persistence and expertise of our School's founder, GrandMaster Moo Yong Lee (1938-2016). Grandmaster Moo Yong Lee was posthumously awarded the highest honor in Taekwondo, a 10th Degree Black Belt by The Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters). Starting his Taekwondo training in 1985, our school's Master Instructor, Mr. Reiss, was personally trained by Grand Master Moo Yong Lee. With his Grandmaster's loving, yet firm, guidance he excelled in the Art of Taekwondo, and has led our students to discover the benefits and effectiveness of Tae Kwon Do.
As a Second Generation Taekwondo Master Instructor, Mr. Reiss upholds the values, principles, techniques, and spirit which Grandmaster Lee instilled in him for decades.

I had the great honor of training directly under Grandmaster Moo Yong Lee for many decades. When I first met him, he was already a legend in the Taekwondo world, but what struck me most was how humble and kind he was. He carried himself with such quiet dignity. He never needed to raise his voice or show off. His presence alone commanded respect. He taught with patience, wisdom, and a deep love for the art.
Grandmaster Lee was a true pioneer. He came to America in the early 1970s and dedicated his entire life to spreading Taekwondo. He built one of the strongest and most respected schools in the country, and he trained hundreds upon hundreds of black belts — many of whom became masters themselves.
But for those of us who trained with him for years, it wasn’t just about the techniques he taught. It was about the man he was. He taught us integrity, discipline, humility, and what it really means to live the martial arts, not just practice them.
Even after he passed in 2016, his influence never left me. Everything I teach today — the way I carry myself, the values I try to pass on — carries a piece of what he gave me. I am deeply honored and forever grateful that Grandmaster Moo Yong Lee was my teacher.
